Ms. Islam is a zealous advocate for her clients and will always guide them in ways that protect their economic and personal rights, including their rights to their children.

Prior to joining Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group, Ms. Islam practiced as a family and criminal/municipal law attorney. Throughout the years, Ms. Islam has represented family law clients in all facets of family law, but has the added perspective and experience of also representing numerous clients in criminal and municipal court matters, with charges including child endangerment, aggravated/simple assault, sexual assault, weapons offenses, drug charges, DUI, and other criminal and municipal law related issues.

Through this well-rounded family law background, Ms. Islam understands that clients’ family law issues may also involve other areas of the law, such as criminal charges or immigration consequences. Ms. Islam’s extensive knowledge in different areas of law and how these can impact her clients’ family case allow her to effectively counsel and protect her client’s interests whenever these situations arise.

After graduation from law school, Ms. Islam served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Nancy L. Ridgway, P.J.F.P., Atlantic County, Family Part. This experience also gave Ms. Islam a “behind the scenes” knowledge of the how the family court system operates as well as family court procedures, which helps her clients feel at ease when they attend their own court proceedings with her standing by their side.

Ms. Islam’s passion for family law attorney was further ignited when she had an opportunity to intern at the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (“DCP&P”) in Passaic County, New Jersey.
