A child of an acrimonious divorce herself, Karen Willitts is sensitive to the concerns and worries of divorcing parents about the needs and well-being of their children. Her goal is to resolve the various problems for her clients arising out of a divorce, including high conflict and emotional situations, in such a way as to allow her clients to move forward in their lives with peace of mind.
Prior to her law career, Ms. Willitts worked as a financial analyst at the investment bank of Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York. She is able to tap into her finance background when her clients’ legal matters include complex asset valuations and other issues related to dividing financial investments.
Ms. Willitts earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School-Newark and served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Amy Piro Chambers, P.J.S.C. in the Civil Division in Middlesex County. She graduated with High Honors from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
Ms. Willitts was honored to be designated by New Jersey Family Magazine as one of New Jersey’s “Best Lawyers for Families”. She has also served as a contributing writer and editor on The Yudes Family Law Citator, published each year by the New Jersey Institute of Legal Education.
Ms. Willitts is admitted to the New Jersey Bar and the New Jersey District Court Bar.
Karen Willitts resides in Middlesex County and enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons and a menagerie of pets, and she is particularly fond of dachshunds.
