Fawn B. Dyer is a family law attorney with Weinberger Divorce and Family Law Group LLC. Ms. Dyer is highly experienced in all aspects of family law, including divorce, child support, child custody, alimony, equitable distribution, complex asset valuation, adoptions, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency issues and all other family law matters.

Fawn Dyer is drawn to the practice of family law because it allows her to directly help people navigating through one of the most stressful times of their lives. Ms. Dyer has built a well-regarded reputation for handling complex, highly contested divorce and family matters, from the initial filing through case conclusion, as well as helping clients negotiate their matters through low conflict methods, including mediation. Ms. Dyer provides each of her clients with creative and compassionate legal representation that focuses on strategic solutions to address her clients’ unique needs and goals.

Believing strongly that no divorce or family law matter should ever be treated like a simple “math problem,” Ms. Dyer zealously advocates for both her clients’ economic interests and their personal interests, including the safety and security of her clients’ minor children. Recognizing that children are vulnerable during any major family transition, Ms. Dyer works quickly to create custody solutions that safeguard children in a time of change, empowering them to feel more resilient and confident in their new configuration. Ms. Dyer is also experienced in reproductive technology legal matters, including cases related to disposition of embryos following IVF.

Before joining Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group, Ms. Dyer represented divorce and family law clients for nearly ten years in her solo practice. She also served as an appointed pool attorney law guardian representing children in New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency (formerly DYFS) child abuse and neglect cases. Ms. Dyer was appointed as law guardian for minor children-heirs in a complex foreclosure matter in Essex County. Among her notable court cases, Ms. Dyer successfully argued an appellate division case regarding college expense contribution: Novak v. Novak, No. A-2340-11t2, unpublished, NJ Appellate Division, Argued October 11, 2012, Decided March 22, 2013.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Dyer had a successful corporate career in finance and insurance. She draws upon that experience as well as her knowledge of real estate and bankruptcy law to provide holistic strategies for her divorce and family law clients.

Ms. Dyer is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court – District of New Jersey, the United States Court of Federal Claims including claims under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Act, and the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Dyer earned her Juris Doctorate from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center.  During law school, Ms. Dyer participated in a family law clinic where she represented indigent clients in child support and child custody matters in Suffolk County, New York. She also interned for the Honorable Torkwase Y. Sekou, J.S.C. in the Essex County Family Part. Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Dyer served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Shirley A. Tolentino, J.S.C. in the Hudson County Civil Part. She has also served as the Seminars Committee Chair for the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Hudson County Bar Association and for eight years on the Board of Trustees of the Jersey Explorer Children’s Museum.

Although she’s a North Carolina native, Ms. Dyer has been a New Jersey resident for over 25 years. A mom of two school-aged sons and actively involved with her children’s youth sports.
