Amanda González is a family law attorney with Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group, LLC. Licensed to practice in both New Jersey and New York, Amanda represents clients in all family and matrimonial matters, including divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, alimony, domestic violence, post-judgment matters, prenuptial agreements, relocation disputes and related family law issues.

Amanda recognizes that divorce and family law matters can be some of the most overwhelming experiences a person will face. Her highest commitment to her clients is providing them with the individualized legal care and strategic advocacy they need to move forward from this difficult period with confidence, stability and renewed peace of mind.

Amanda begins every new client relationship by understanding what matters most to them. She takes the time to see the full picture: the legal facts and personal circumstances shaping their situation, the issues that need attention now, their long-term goals, and the future they envision. From there, she develops a strategy built around these priorities.

Clients can count on Amanda to be responsive and meticulously prepared. She anticipates challenges before they arise, explains options in plain terms, and protects her client’s position at every stage of the legal process. Whether a matter can be settled through negotiation, mediation or requires court intervention, Amanda will always pursue the path that secures the best possible outcomes for her client.

Before devoting her practice to matrimonial and family matters, she completed externships and internships in criminal defense, child welfare, and domestic violence advocacy, gaining early exposure to courtroom practice and the complexities of high-conflict matters. She then practiced in commercial and residential real estate law and land use litigation, further developing her skills in evidence analysis, motion practice, and litigation strategy. This breadth of experience allows Amanda to approach complex family law matters from multiple angles, ensuring that every aspect of a case receives thoughtful and careful attention.

Of special note, Amanda interned with the U.S. Army JAG Corps at Fort Drum, New York, where she gained experience with military legal investigations involving allegations of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. Today, she draws on that firsthand insight to safeguard her clients and their children in matters involving sensitive allegations. For servicemembers and military families, her JAG Corps experience also informs her approach to the unique issues military law and military service can present in divorce and custody matters.
Amanda graduated with her Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar and served as a Competition Editor for the Moot Court Honor Society. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from New York University.

Outside of her legal practice, Amanda spent more than a decade as a certified volunteer firefighter in New Jersey. The experience reinforced many of the same qualities she brings to her work as an attorney: remaining composed under pressure, responding decisively as circumstances change, and being ready to help when people are facing difficult situations.
Amanda is a mother of two. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, cooking and reading.
