Andrew J. Economos (“Andy”) is an attorney of counsel with Weinberger Divorce & Family Law Group. Mr. Economos exclusively devotes his practice to family law matters, including divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, alimony, equitable distribution of assets and liabilities, post-judgment modifications and litigation, seeking and defending against domestic violence restraining orders, and all other related divorce and family law matters.

Drawing upon his vast experience and skill in this area of the law, Mr. Economos guides his clients with attentive care, service and sensitivity to the personal importance of family law matters. He develops deep and strong connections with his clients through maintaining open communication and availability. By keeping his clients updated and informed about strategic options and recommended courses of action in their case, Mr. Economos’s clients have the confidence and peace of mind of knowing they are on the best path forward.

Mr. Economos is a qualified and court approved Family Law Mediator and enjoys serving in this role to assist parties in resolving their marital disputes in an amicable and expeditious fashion. Mr. Economos will always seek out low conflict resolutions whenever possible and appropriate, including mediation; however, should litigation be necessary, he will zealously advocate to safeguard his clients’ rights and best interests.

In the courtroom, Mr. Economos has a nimble touch and ability to anticipate and effectively respond to his adversary’s counter arguments and ultimately persevere in achieving his clients’ goals. Mr. Economos has appeared before Judges in virtually every county/vicinage throughout New Jersey, and appears in the following counties on a regular basis: Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Union, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Mercer.

Mr. Economos received his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law. While in law school, he volunteered at the Essex County Public Defender’s Office through the Center for Social Justice Pro Bono Program. He gained experience serving as a judicial intern at Essex County Family Court before serving as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Richard C. Camp, J.S.C (Ret.), Chancery Division, Family Part, Essex County. Since entering into private practice, Mr. Economos has been dedicated to divorce and family law, and he shares his knowledge by delivering lectures and seminars in this area.

Mr. Economos has also volunteered as an expert panelist at the Middlesex County Court in the Early Settlement Panel program. The ESP program enlists experienced, qualified family law attorneys to volunteer their time to assist litigants and their attorneys to help reach a resolution of their divorce litigation.

When not engaging in the practice of family law, Mr. Economos enjoys coaching various sports, fishing, teaching himself how to play the drums, and most of all, spending time with his wife, a high school special education teacher, and their two children.
