Robert J. Kane, an associate at the Weinberger Law Group, is a 1989 graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, having majored in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1995. While there he was a member of the Student Senate, a volunteer attorney for the Ingham County Civil Action Project, and an intern in the Washtenaw County Office of the Public Defender.
He was admitted to practice law in New Jersey in 1995, and admitted to practice law in New York in 1996. He maintains both licenses to practice in good standing. After admission to the Bar, Mr. Kane was the Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Edward V. Torack, J.S.C. in the Family Part, Bergen County. Prior to that time, he served as an intern to the Honorable Peter F. Boggia, J.S.C. in the Bergen County Law Division.
Mr. Kane is a volunteer staff attorney for the Domestic Violence Legal Advocacy Project, Bergen County. This program provides legal representation to victims of domestic violence of low to moderate income. He has also completed the New Jersey Bar Association’s continuing legal education training for Family Part Economic Mediators, and has been approved by the Administrative Office of the Courts to be a Family Part Economic Mediator.
Mr. Kane is an expert panelist for the Early Settlement Program in both Bergen and Passaic Counties. This program provides litigants the opportunity to present their cases to a panel of three independent attorneys and receive from that panel an unbiased recommendation for settlement of their outstanding issues.
