Joseph "Bud" Murphy was awarded a Juris Doctorate in 2000 and has dedicated his law practice almost exclusively to the fields of family and matrimonial law. He has served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Ernest M. Caposela, J.S.C. in the Passaic County Family Part upon his graduation.

Bud is an Accredited Mediator by the State of New Jersey and is an expert panelist with the Morris and Somerset County Early Settlement Panel programs.

Mr. Murphy is vastly experienced in handling child custody and parenting time disputes, matters of domestic violence, emergent applications, uncontested divorce hearings and post-judgment applications. Bud handles complex divorce and family law matters, which involve the engagement of variety of experts, including forensic accountants, employability experts, real estate and personal property appraisers, child custody best interest evaluators and drug/alcohol evaluators. Bud assists clients with the valuation and distribution of businesses, professional practices and executive benefits, such as stock options and restricted stock. He counsels clients regarding issues such as alimony, child support, child custody, parenting time and the equitable distribution of assets.

In March 2011, Mr. Murphy was recognized as a "New Jersey Super Lawyers - Rising Stars" by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.
